1) I know nothing about raising a child and I just had a baby, what do I do?
Well first of all things are going to be very different because newborn babies don’t sleep through the night so be prepared to wake up throughout the night. Remember when you hold the baby hold the head and the back firmly because they’re not strong enough to do it themselves and can get hurt. The difference with being a parent is that when the baby starts to cry you can’t give them back, so when they start fussing and crying stay calm they might just might need to change ,be feed, need to be burped, feeling some pain(ear, teething or colic ) or they don’t want to lay down anymore and just want to be held.
2) What are some of the responsibilities?
Some of our responsibilities are preparing meals, getting him ready for daycare and to go out, combing his hair, bringing him to the doctors, buy him things he needs and wants, keep him clean, and just being there when he wants comfort.
3) What kind of resources does the public library system have for kids?
Some of the resources that the public libary have for kids, they have reading programs for kids of different age groups, you bring the child sit with them and read to them. They also have family reading nights where the whole family can come in and read together.
4) What’s the number one mistake that young mothers make?
I think the number one mistake young mothers make is thinking that having a baby is only about dressing up the baby in nice clothes and walking around showing off its really not. Yes, you do dress them up but you have to take care of them feed them be there for them and that’s what I think is the number one mistake young parents make not only the mothers.
5) How do you balance everything?
Well for me it’s like a natural thing because I have younger brother and sisters and I helped my mom with them. But because I have my family helping me it’s much easier. His dad drives him to daycare in the morning so all I do is get him ready then I leave out go to school after school I go to work and his dad picks him up then gets me from work but if his dad is working my sister get my son from daycare. If I have anywhere to go my mom is always there along with my brother and sisters.
6) Is it hard?
As I said before in the previous answer I have my family helping me it’s not as hard because they are helping me !!
